Company Info: history

Vasont Systems was born from its sister division, Progressive Information Technologies, when they recognized a need in the marketplace for a content management system that would give organizations the ability to create content once, repurpose and publish it to print, PDF, Web, and CD-ROM.

Since Vasont was initially developed as a project for one of Progressive Information Technologies’ clients in 1992, it has evolved into several applications to provide diverse organizations with a system that best meets their needs.

Follow the progression of Vasont Systems in the timeline below. (Click here for more information about Progressive Information Technologies’ company history.)

Dorland's Medical Dictionaries 1992
Progressive Information Technologies began to develop a content management system for WB Saunders' flagship product, the Dorland's Medical Dictionary. This software enabled WB Saunders to better manage, organize, and repurpose the content of the dictionary to multiple spin-offs and to publish them in print, CD, and Web formats.
