EMIGSVILLE, PA - January 11, 2012 - Vasont Systems, a top provider of XML content management solutions, will co-present a free webinar with Comtech Services called, "Implementing a Publishing Solution for the DITA 1.2 Learning and Training Specialization". This webinar will discuss the benefits of the DITA 1.2 learning and training specialization and the way it can be used by instructional designers to develop and reuse content and interactive exercises from technical documentation content in a component content management system. The webinar will be presented on Thursday, January 26 at 11:00 am Eastern time/8:00 am Pacific time. Registration for the webinar is open and available at https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/500845306.

This educational event, sponsored by Vasont Systems, is intended to familiarize DITA users with the learning and training specialization and its benefits. Bill Gamboa of Vasont Systems and Hal Trent of Comtech Services will explain how the DITA 1.2 learning and training specialization content is:

  • mapped to SCORM-compliant output
  • published using the DITA-OT and then integrated into a SCORM-compliant LMS
  • shared between the technical documentation and learning and training departments to maximize content reuse

They will also discuss how an organization can leverage their current learning and training content with DITA-created learning and training content. The presentation will tie all concepts together with a demonstration using the Vasont Content Management System, the DITA 1.2 learning and training specialization, the DITA-OT, and the Moodle LMS.
